We started with one mower and a pickup in 2012. Today we look after more than 1,200 Austin yards, and we still answer the phone ourselves.
Our story
It started with the neighbor's lawn
Marco Alvarez grew up mowing lawns in South Austin for pocket money. In 2012 a neighbor asked him to take over her yard full time, then her friends asked, then their friends. GreenStripe was born out of that one street.
We have grown since, but the idea has not changed. Every property gets a regular crew lead who learns the yard, turns up on the same day each week and takes pride in the finish. No rotating strangers and no surprise invoices.
We are still family owned, still local, and still obsessed with a clean edge along the driveway.
